Friday night in the Stag

Things reached an all-time low in the Stag last night - we were joined by Ken and Gary who had been playing a tie at the golf club (easy win for Ken!). After a couple of shandies, Ken and Gary reverted to coffees - a first for the Friday night session:

We got round to discussing Euro 2008 and it was a bit of a struggle to list the 16 countries taking part. Even the later addition of Ian Sharp and Lewis McKenzie, his pal from the Broch, didn't help us much. We were pretty certain about 14 of the teams, but couldn't be sure if the final two were Turkey and Greece (correct - see http://www.euroteam2008.com/teams.htm) or whether Slovakia and Denmark might be there.
Inevitably, and sadly, the discussion/debate then turned to the Eurovision Song Contest - how many times has the UK won? Gary, John and Ian all thought it was 6, and Lewis and Ken guessed 4. The correct answer is 5 - well done CK - you obviously know more about this than you do football! (ref http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_song_contest#Winners).
What next? Skinny lattes and discussions about flower arranging?
