The show was themed this time, starting with the usual "Obituary" spot (a total of 9 shown - all artistes who have departed since our last headbang on 14th March). There followed "Then and Now" featuring Cream and Pentangle performing with the same line-ups 40 years apart.
"Originals and Covers" showed 4 different songs from the 50's and 60's and their subsequent covers. "Blues Legends" included Big Joe Williams and Howlin' Wolf from 1963 and 1964. A very brief "Corny Country" interlude showed Marty Robbins singing El Paso, and was followed by the most embarrassing performance ever when Chuck Berry was trying to sing Memphis Tennessee with John Lennon, whilst Yoko wailed in the background.
"Festival Rock" ranged from Hendrix in 1970 at the Isle of Wight to Interpol and Muse at Glastonbury in 2003 and 2004 respectively. The "Superstar Gathering" was from the Crossroads fund-raiser in 2005 with BB King, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Vaughan and Buddy Guy all on the same stage.
The main part of the show was "Through the Decades" - 41 videos from the last 6 decades - 12 from the 00's, 2 from the 90's, 6 from the 80's, 12 from the 70's, 6 from the 60's and 3 from the 50's.
We just about had time for the traditional team photo whilst the taxi waited outside - this time in Dave's kitchen, strewn with beer and curry:
