Champions League Final/Football Forecasts Finale

From http://bvetsfootballgroup.blogspot.com/

Nine of us gathered to watch the Champions League Final at the Douglas on Saturday night, and we made the presentation to Geordie for winning the Forecasts for 2010-11 - again - at half time. 40/50/60 shirts were supposed to be worn for the occasion, but several of us forgot to bring them! Here's the presentation:

McRae, Marshall, Fitzpatrick, Ziegler, Grant, Kilgour, Corbett (half hidden), Stewart and Black.
It was half time - it was 1-1 and Geordie was wearing his favoured Man Utd colours. However, both the match and Geordie's top had changed come full time - here he is with a Barca strip on now:

Well prepared or two-faced? You make up your mind.

The cheque, made payable to Geordie's nominated charity, Nansato Nursery Trust in Malawi, was for a record total of £195 - well done to everyone who contributed. Good fun and a good cause benefiting - what could be better?

For the record, the final results (out of 20 forecasts) were:

  • 1. Geordie Ziegler 11
  • 2= Andy Marshall 10
  • 2= Dave Williamson 10
  • 2= Colin Kilgour 10
  • 5 Steve Paterson 9
  • 6= Ian McRae 8
  • 6= Ken Black 8
  • 6= Gary Grant 8
  • 6= Malcolm Lodge 8
  • 10= Ewen Hay 7
  • 10= Andy Robertson 7
  • 10= Tim Trimble 7
  • 10= Jeb Tyrie 7
  • 10= Chris Dickinson 7
  • 10= Ian Stewart 7
  • 16= John McWhinnie 6
  • 16= Nigel Meany 6
  • 16= Rob Dunnachie 6
  • 19 Ian Sharp 3
Hopefully we'll get a few more to take part next year and manage to raise even more money for somebody's favourite charity.
