I understand that John Moir is organising a curry night out in Aberdeen as an official farewell to Andy Gore, who is leaving the area shortly. This is being planned for Friday 7th December, immediately after Friday night football. John will circulate details in due course, but as it's only a couple of weeks away, I thought it wise to give everyone some advance warning.
This date is just a few days after Dan Corbett's 70th birthday, so it could be a double-up celebration. In case anyone had forgotten what Dan looked like, we had a game of footy followed by a curry night out in Banchory on the occasion of his 65th birthday, when he was presented with his beloved Ross County strip, and this is how the night went:
Could we see more of this on Friday 7th?
We have another big occasion coming up in December. It's Dave Williamson's 60th on Christmas Eve. The traditional footy match at DATA in Banchory is a great way to start the holiday period and it's become one of our favourite fixtures - be there or be square. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass my apologies this year as I'll be holidaying Down Under then - and this is where volunteers are required. Normally I arrange the pitch, the sides and the catering, but somebody else will have to do it this year, I'm afraid.
This was 24th December, 2002 on the occasion of Dave's 50th:
