Xmas Eve/DMW birthday celebrations

Always one of the best days of the year and yesterday was no exception. There were a few late cancellations and a couple of no-shows, but it meant that the match at DATA turned out to be a perfect 7-a-side affair, culminating in a 5-1 win for the "lights", meaning the birthday boy was on the losing side on his reluctant comeback.

Dave turned up dressed for the occasion, wearing a tartan scarf and "go faster" boots, allegedly belonging to his son:

Dave wasn't alone in the fancy boots department, however:

Who would wear boots like this? Answers on a postcard please.

The traditional pre-match team photo, including 3 non-players:

Standing l-r: John McWhinnie, Jack Simpson's son-in-law, Chris Trimble, Jack Simpson, Ken Black, Dave Williamson, Gerry Mullins, Ewen Hay, Ian Sharp, Jeb Tyrie, Jamie Williamson & Ian Stewart
Kneeling l-r: Tim Trimble, Gary Grant, Malcolm Lodge, Andy Marshall & Steve Paterson
Now the action - looking on were the Simpsons:

Next, the fun part back in the Douglas, where we were joined by Colin Kilgour and a blast from the past - young Geoff Holmes. Dave did the decent thing again and bought birthday drams - as did Geoff later on:

We were ensconced in The Snug and the "sport" showing on the TV screen was the Lingerie League:

Some other shots taken in the Douglas:

As Dave was about to leave after the end of a very convivial afternoon, he showed us the ball he had brought along, so we passed it round and everyone "autographed" it:

Merry Xmas everyone!
