Smorgasbord and drams

From http://bvetsfootballgroup.blogspot.com/

There was a good turnout last night at the Douglas to watch the England - Sweden match - although Ian McRae and I were a bit later than planned arriving back from our golf at Blairgowrie. As soon as the match was finished, Andy got in the drams to celebrate his birthday:

Fun evening - including some lively debates!

It seems that even those present at Fred's 50th back in 1991 couldn't remember what was written on the back of the t-shirt that said "I scored on my 50th birthday" on the front, as featured in this week's happy birthday blog posting. A couple of suggestions included Fred's famous Roy Aitken/orange joke about getting pulled off at half time, and even confusion with Jack's t-shirt from our first overseas trip which had a similar frontage to Fred's - "I scored in Amsterdam" - but the rear of that one was "but Jack Simpson didn't".

For the record, this was the rear view back in 1991:

Last night, Tim made a suggestion for a potential return visit to OktoberFest - he thought we should cycle there! What's more, we think he was serious too! Doesn't he realise how decrepit the rest of us are now? Iron Man Trimble could probably do it, but he'd be on his own, I fear.
