It was a triple celebration night in Aberdeen last night. Not only were we out for a pre-Christmas do, but it was also time to bid a fond adieu to Andy Gore, who is now bound for retirement in the Lake District - or so he says. It was also an opportunity to celebrate Dan Corbett's 70th birthday last Sunday.
The Banchory Friday night crew dusted off their bus passes and jumped on a 202 to Aberdeen to meet up with the footballers in the Grill. True to form, it didn't take our oldest member long to make a name with one young lady:
We walked down to the Nazma where we met up with a still heavily bandaged Cubby and were joined a bit later by CK (who was late leaving work) plus a slight surprise visit from Geordie Ziegler. This was the young(er) end of the table:
The other end didn't look quite as happy for some reason:
The old farts then took the kind offer of a lift back to Banchory with Geordie, whilst the others went in search of more ale - and hopefully, some music.
We were back in Banchory in plenty of time for a couple of ales at the Douglas, plus, of course, Dan's drams in the newly refurbished Snug Bar:
